Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart PLC held their Christmas Show & Sale of Dairy cattle at their monthly sale in Dumfries on Monday 1st December 2008.

101 Dairy Cattle Forward, a large ringside of buyers from through South West Scotland and North of England were present and this was reflected in the buoyant trade received.

The top price of £2,420 was paid for a pedigree second calved cow Drumlanrig Outside Zwopkje and purchased by A & A Paul, Greigsland, Johnstone Bridge Lockerbie.

Ayrshires were also in demand and Mr DM Dickie, Knockenjig, Sanquhar received £1980 for a new calved cow (4th calver).
