lambs were dearer on the week, especially export weights which
met a sound demand. The sale average was 107.2p a rise of 4p on
the week.
The
firm also held their Annual Christmas Show and Sale when the show was
ably judged by J Mitchell of Oriel Jones who awarded the championship
to a pen of Beltex cross lambs from BK Ryder, Newton, Moffat which scaled
48 kilos and sold at £92 (191p per kilo) to Welsh Country Foods.

reserve champion from Gelston Castle sold for £72 to Border Meats,
Lockerbie and were Texels scaling 46 kilos.
