Sale of Working Sheepdogs

Cumberland & Dumfriesshire held their Spring Sale of 59 working collies and pups at Moffat on Saturday 8th March 2014.

The cold, breezy morning did not deter the many customers from throughout the UK attending, with well bred broken Dogs meeting keen demand.

Leading the day's trade at 3,000gns (£3150.00) fell to Meg, a June 2011 born Black & White Bitch shown by Robin Bell, Hawick purchased by Ian Little, Dalry, Castle Douglas.

A Late entry from Allan McKenzie of Lochearnhead, Perth met the next best price of 2800gns (£2940) with Ben, a Red 4 year old Dog selling to Matt Ross, Shawhead

Regular Irish Seller Ivan Stevenson, Broughshane sold Dot, a Black & White Jan 2010 bitch at 2400gns (£2520) to a Regular Scottish Buyer.

2250gns (£2362.50) was the next best paid to Mrs C McLauchlan, Spean Bridge, Inverness with Ascog Jess, a Tricolour 2 year 4 month old Bitch to M/s Lennox, Luss

Hugh Johnstone, Fyvie then sold Kim a Black & White 12mo Bitch at 2200gns (£2310) to James Heggie Kinross

Co Donegal handler O McLauchlin's Roy, a 11mo Black & White Dog made 2100gns (£2205) to JB & D McNichol, Dunblane
