The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart had forward 394 store
cattle & suckler calves at their Special January sale at Longtown
on Tuesday 19th January, 2010.
Cattle met an unbelievable trade with
buyers coming from all over, ensuring vendors saw their cattle £60
- £100
dearer on the year.
A great show of cattle saw Limousin bullocks selling
to a top of £1,010 and £1,000 (x3) for 12 month olds
from W.H. & D.A. Gass, Nunscleugh, with Limousin heifers from
the same home to £955 (x2) and £935 (x2).
